VP of Sales

Sales · London, Greater London
Department Sales
Employment Type Full-Time

Background

Joymo.tv is a disruptive streaming company in the sports broadcasting space. We are an award nominated media company, a direct-to-consumer broadcasting solution, and a global sports rights holder originated in Oslo, Norway.

As Vice President of Sales in Joymo you will be a critical contributor to our content acquisition strategies, our future growth and our aspirational (whisper: global) objectives.

The Role

VP of Sales is a unique opportunity for you to be part of an innovative and welcoming team. You will have overarching responsibility for identifying, negotiating and acquiring long term exclusive partnerships with sports rights holders in key designated markets. You will report to the CEO, communicate with the Board and Shareholders as required, work as a key member of the Joymo Senior Management Team, and you will work closely with international colleagues in Scandinavia and the UK. You are most likely located in the UK, but this is a remote position.

Responsibilities

  • This is about new partnerships, new agreements, to stimulate the growth of content being broadcast through the Joymo platform. This is a responsibility you understand and are excited about leading.
  • Reporting to the CEO, you will own, develop and lead Joymo’s market-specific content acquisition strategies from partnerships with sports rights holders/owners. Joymo wants great sporting content and you are the person to get it.
  • Working together with a motivated and growing team of partnership development managers and sales consultants to highlight, secure and successfully steward new partners.
  • Develop and execute market-specific sales strategies and routines to be successful at cultivating business growth.
  • Identify emerging market trends and opportunities while also having an understanding of the competitive landscape.
  • Attend relevant virtual events, webinars, and conferences in the market to promote Joymo.

To be successful, we believe you:

  • Have a college degree, preferably 4+ years of new business sales experience
  • Bring a creative approach to new business development
  • Have a record of building a sales pipeline through market analysis and prioritisation.
  • Have good communication and influencing skills with the ability to create excitement and trust towards new partners.
  • Are fluent in English, verbal and written.

It’s also beneficial, but not a hard requirement that you have;

  • A passion for sport
  • Experience in selling/buying sports rights
  • Worked in media/sports/advertising
  • Had leadership and managerial experience

Is this you?

  • You are a motivated and organised commercial professional.
  • You are comfortable working remotely and know what great collaboration for people working apart looks like.
  • You enjoy thinking strategically and know how to approach difficult decisions.

Are you excited about this opportunity BUT not sure that you tick all the boxes? We would still love to hear from you. We believe curiosity and willingness to learn are important traits.

Honestly, if you’re just a really great communicator and enjoy building long term partnerships, and you want to tackle a new challenge, we want to meet you.

We offer

  • The chance to help sculpt something - You will be joining an exciting company with global ambitions at an early stage.
  • Ownership - everyone in Joymo feels great ownership of where we are going and how we are going to get there. We offer competitive compensation and a mix of share purchase and share options to take part in the success of Joymo.
  • Impact - This is an opportunity to help make a BIG impact on the world of sport and the engagement of people playing and watching sport.
  • Fun - We really enjoy working together.
  • Trust - Team Joymo is spread across countries and continents. Many work remotely. We have created a culture of trust, openness and transparency.
  • Travel - the chance to travel across the UK, Europe, US and to the beautiful city of Oslo in Norway and hangout with an international team of funny, friendly people.
  • Flexibility - we are all different, and have different needs. We want to create a culture that has room for everybody, and where you can be in control of your day to day.
